Products: Benjamin Moore brand MooreGard and MoorLife Premium Exterior Paint.

Methods: This house had not been painted for about 20 years and all of the paint on the wood trim and windows was failing. Fortunately for us (maybe not for the homeowner) the siding was asbestos and needed no other prepping than to be cleaned. Asbestos siding holds paint extremely well, and if you can stand the look can last a long time. It’s a little trick to work around as it likes to crack, so care needs to be taken when placing ladders on this type of siding. We prepped up the windows and trim, with most of the trim you see above going back to bare wood. After priming with a premium oil based primer we coated all of the siding with MoorLife, giving a nice flat finish to sort of “hide” the asbestos siding and painted up all of the trim in MoorGard for a durable finish. Painting and some new landscaping and this house is absolutely unrecognizable from the disaster we started with.
